Manx invade Main Beach!
Unique Cars photoshoot
On the 26th November 2005, a bright Sunday morning, a collection of Manxs gathered for a photo shoot for Unique Cars magazine.
What better place to do a photo shoot but at the beach. Permits in hand we made our way down onto the sand at Main Beach. The sudden appearance of five shiny Manx buggies on a public beach instantly drew a crowd and a Council Inspector or two.
The magazine was wanting pics and details for a feature article on the Meyers Manx Beach Buggy for their February 2006 edition. Dave Johnson organised for a few of us to gather for the shoot. Amongst the five buggies on show was Kurt’s Green Machine, our buggy ‘Nemo’, Gunter’s and Richie’s street machines that had never seen sand before, and of course Dave’s red Manx Type04.
After an hour or so on the sand, it was time to take to the road for some action shots. The morning was a load of fun and a good opportunity to show of the buggies. Thanks to Dave for inviting us along. Dave is putting together a book Australian Buggies so if you have any old pics or memorabilia contact Dave at australianbuggies@onthenet.com.au
